It has great design and the Velcro strap was helpful in keeping it on my hands. .

A forklift operator is not an easy job. Every day, they are face with danger and it is important that they have the proper health and safety gears on before they start their work. Only qualified and authorized forklift operators are allowed to provide forklift service as the task requires certain skills and training to operate material handling equipment. The employer is responsible for ensuring that a trainee completes training and testing to meet the performance criteria set out in the standard before the person is assigned tasks as a lift truck operator
A forklift driver or operator must maintain forklift safety so a thorough inspection must be done regularly. They must also be good judges of the distances between objects. Any miscalculation in this job could result in extensive damage to person and property. The job requires familiarity with working on the machines and the use of tools necessary to repair the machine if needed. Sound physical health is essential as this work requires bending, stretching, lifting and pushing heavy objects.
More importantly, a forklift driver or operator must wear the correct clothing for work. Specific protective gears are added depending on the location or materials handled however the basics includes safety glasses to protect eye sight, industrial safety shoes to protect their toes from falling objects of intermediate weight. A hi-visibility jacket is also recommended and hard hats must be worn at all times. Safety gloves are needed especially when operating the forklift.
Always remember that even when wearing protective gears, wet hands or shoes are a big no-no in operating forklifts. If your hands are greasy, never hold any control knobs or levers, as your hands and feet could slide off the controls and cause accidents. Some operators wear hearing protection, but in some locations this is not advisable as it can reduce the ability to hear other people or machines nearby. Safety is the key to keeping the workplace safe and accident-free.
